Questions people ask
Do sales and purchases post to the books on their own?+
Yes. Invoices, bills, receipts, payments and payroll post their journal entries as they are saved, using account rules you can review. Posted entries are never edited; they are reversed and posted again, so the trail stays clean.
Is the chart of accounts set up for Indian reporting?+
Yes. The default groups follow Schedule III, so the balance sheet and profit and loss read the way your auditor expects. You can add your own ledgers under them.
How does bank reconciliation work?+
Import your bank statement as CSV or Excel and map its columns once. Drista matches statement lines to entries in your books, and you match, ignore or post the rest. You can also tick off cleared entries by hand and enter the passbook balance.
Does it handle TDS on vendor bills?+
Yes. TDS sections and rates are kept as a master, and TDS is worked out when a purchase bill, purchase order or vendor advance is booked, including the higher no-PAN rate and lower-deduction certificates under section 197. TDS registers and payments are tracked. TDS return files (26Q) are not generated yet.
Can I stop changes to a closed month?+
Yes. Lock a period and nothing dated inside it can be added or changed until it is unlocked. Every change to financial records is also kept in an audit trail with old and new values.
Which reports are included?+
Trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, ledger statements, receivables and payables ageing, cost centre and budget against actual, with drill-down to the entries behind each figure and export to Excel.
